Wordsong

Wordsong is a multimedia project in wich Pedro D’Orey, Alexandre Cortez,Nuno Grácio, Filipe Valentim and another guest artists transform, manipulate, deconstruct and reconstruct the poetry of portuguese autors into sound experiences of acoustic-electronic content. The debut work was launched on 2003 and it was dedicated to the poet Al Berto. Now, the project turned to the universe of one of the most famous portuguese poets, Fernando Pessoa. In its essence, Wordsong - Pessoa it’s a multidisciplinary project wich combines music and video around Pessoa’s legacy. The innovative musical language, interpreting the poet’s words with total creative liberty, recreating images and manipulating languages, transposes to this work an unique vision induced by the imaginary of Pessoa’s poems. The final result is a book, prefaced by the number one Pessoa’s translator Richard Zenith, with some of the original poems, and a DADV (new format with double layer) wich contains a DVD with 12 videos made by the portuguese plastic artist Rita Sá and a CD with 16 songs.
